Best Summer Camps In Los Angeles, Orange County & San DIEGO

Crafts, games, new friendships and maybe even a science experiment resulting in a fiery explosion—these are just a few of the many memories from your own days at summer camp. In fact, these fond memories can motivate you to seek out similar opportunities for your own child. After all, who doesn’t love a good explosion? That’s precisely where Galileo can assist, as we provide dynamic, fun and educational day camp experiences for children who are preparing to enter pre-kindergarten through 8th grade.

At Galileo, we believe that learning should be a year-round activity—one that’s fun, engaging and transformative. But stimulating your child’s mind in new and unique ways can be a challenge. After all, you can only visit the La Brea tar pits and Discovery Cube Los Angeles so many times. This is where Galileo’s Southern California summer camps step up, as our curriculum is designed to engage kids who have a passion for learning and cultivate a love of discovery in all children. We have over 15 different summer camp locations in Los Angeles and Orange County (including Irvine), so there’s a good chance a Galileo camp program is nearby.

Camp Galileo | Galileo Summer Quest

At Galileo, it's our mission is to develop innovators who envision and create a better world. Our programs provide campers with a nurturing environment where they can ask questions, make mistakes, analyze, collaborate and learn from experience. It’s this type of environment that builds innovators with a passion for lifelong learning and a can-do attitude that carries forward into their future—their future relationships, education and even their future careers.

Each camp session is suitable as a standalone summer camp experience, and no two sessions are precisely the same. Campers are free to sign up for a single week, multiple consecutive weeks, or multiple non-consecutive weeks, providing you with the flexibility to plan your kid’s camp experience around the rest of your summer.

What is Camp Galileo?

Camp Galileo has earned its spot among the best summer camps in CA. Campers are divided into groups by age, ranging from children who are pre-K through 5th grade. The camp day is divided into science, art and outdoor activities and games, as part of a camp curriculum built around one of four inspired themes. Each theme presents a completely unique experience, so campers are encouraged to attend and enjoy multiple weeks. Even campers who repeat a theme can enhance and build upon their previous experiences.

The 2018 camp themes will include the following:

  • The Incredible Human BodyThe Art and Science of Being Human
  • Space Explorers: Cosmic Art and Astronaut Science
  • Road Trip Adventure: Art and Engineering on Route 66
  • Galileo Makers: Materials Challenge: Extraordinary Art and Inventions with Ordinary Supplies

Campers who are going to enter the 5th grade in the fall can choose between our Camp Galileo and Galileo Summer Quest programs, depending upon which program is best suited to their personal preferences—or they can enjoy both!

We partner with excellent area schools, and currently host our summer camps in Orange County and Los Angeles, from Irvine to Pasadena.

Why Are Galileo Camps Different?

Galileo aims to make learning fun, while also delivering those experiences and social opportunities that make summer camp so very memorable. In fact, many parents have reported that their child’s camp experience was nothing short of transformative.

It’s our fantastic staff, professionally-designed curriculum and our emphasis on learning in a fun, social environment that has made Galileo one of the best summer camps in Los Angeles and Orange County. Galileo’s summer camp program began in the San Francisco Bay Area, but our eager reception in SoCal prompted a recent expansion into the Chicago area as well.

When you register your child for one or more weeklong sessions at Galileo, you can look forward to an opportunity that empowers your child to develop a long-lasting sense of independence, improved reasoning skills and even a lifelong passion for discovery and innovation. We recommend that children register for at least three weeks for maximum benefit, although those sessions don’t need to be consecutive or even at the same location.

Galileo camps accept new campers up until 3 pm local time on the Friday before the start of a new session. But many programs reach capacity months before the start of summer, so early sign up is recommended. We encourage you to join our mailing list to stay up to date on the latest Galileo news and programs.
