Design and build your perfect pet. Use corrugated plastic and Arduino-type microprocessors to breathe animatronic life into any robot animal you can dream up, from puppy to ladybug to dragon. Learn construction techniques and programming basics as you create legs, tails or wings, integrating servo motors to get them moving. Optimize your pet’s senses with an ultrasonic sensor as you teach it to react to the world around it. Introduce your playful pet to friends and family at the end of the session, then take home your own untethered, interactive robot.
After your week at camp, you can use the browser-based program Code Builder to continue programming your robot pets at home on any computer. Here's what you need to do:
- Download the Arduino uploader software. This program will transfer your programs from your computers to your robot pets.
- Download Code Builder. This program will help program your robot pet.
- Start code builder by unzipping the file. Open the demos folder, then the code folder. Double-click the Code Builder Application file to launch it in your web browser.
- You can create a shortcut to that file by right clicking and selecting Create Shortcut (for Windows) or Make Alias (for Mac).
