Dive into our innovative curriculum
Explore this summer's line-up
We’re on a mission to develop innovators who envision and create a better world. We do it by training our incredible staff to understand and teach the Galileo Innovation Approach—“the G.I.A.”
The GIA is inspired by the innovation process developed at the Stanford d.school. We took some of their fundamental ideas, added our own, then adapted it for kids from pre-K through 8th grade, when they’re especially open to absorbing new ways to think, explore and create.
Spend a summer diving into the GIA and our fresh, inspiring curriculum, which has been recognized by the White House for excellence in STE(A)M programming. Whether you’re a seasoned educator across multiple disciplines or a specific subject-matter enthusiast, you’re sure to find something new and exciting to learn this summer while sharing your expertise. Take a look at our two primary camp programs and examples of projects that you can help create this summer.
Camp Galileo (rising K-5th graders)
Experience our project-based curriculum and evolve your capacity to teach design-thinking principles to elementary school students as you lead art, science or outdoor play. Add to your educator tool belt through four magical weekly themes, while learning expert classroom management strategies. After spending a summer inspiring tomorrow’s innovators, you’ll return to your school-year endeavors with a renewed sense of purpose.
2018 Sneak Peek
This summer, our Camp Galileo themes include Space Explorers, The Incredible Human Body, Road Trip Adventure, and Galileo Makers: Materials Challenge (our Maker Education partnership theme!). Lead projects like engineering a robotic animal using hydraulics, learning about visual composition through studying the sculptor Louise Nevelson or building a motorized rover to cross Martian dunes.

Galileo Summer Quest (rising 5th-8th graders)
At Galileo Summer Quest, you’ll spend the summer empowering middle-school campers to go deeper, focusing on one major for the entire week. Teach material you’re already passionate about, or hone your expertise in brand new subject matter while gaining cutting-edge skills for your resume. You’ll use professional tools and software while adding your own flair to the classroom, creating your ideal learning experience for pre-teen innovators eager to explore and create.
2018 Sneak Peek
We’re bringing back popular majors like YouTube Producers and Mystery Room: The Great Escape while premiering new majors like Virtual Reality and Robot Pet! Use Tinkercad and 3D printers to bring a camper’s vision to life, or teach Java as you hack the code in Minecraft. Create sweet and savory treats in Chefology or use jigsaw cutters as campers create full-size catapults and go-karts in our maker classes. Whatever your current or future passion is, we have a specialized GSQ major to fuel it and inspire you daily.
