Lia Shepherd

Lia Shepherd
Camp Director

Lia is a six-year Galilean who's spent the last three years leading the team at GSQ Fremont. During the school year, she works with struggling middle schoolers to get them back on the right academic track. From camp to the classroom, Lia lives by, learns from and celebrates mistakes. "I enjoy the opportunity to celebrate my ideas (mistakes included) and come up with ways to make them better," she says. "I wear my mistakes proudly to teach others the importance of learning from every step." Lia strives to make a difference in kids' minds and hearts, and uses what she's learned at Galileo to do it. "I truly enjoy the GIA (Galileo Innovation Approach) because it not only teaches you to embrace mistakes," she explains, "but it challenges you to go back and try again." And through that trying and testing and trying again, incredible innovations are born—one marvelous mistake at a time.
